Bio

Hello. My name is Travis Tom, an award-winning designer, illustrator and icon specialist based in Augusta, GA. My capabilities include icon design and development, logo design, user-interface design and traditional print work. Upon graduating from the University of Georgia (Athens) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design, I interned in NYC with a professor for the award-winning The Salad Bowl restaurant. The architect and designer has since won 9 industry and environmental design awards for this project including a cover feature of Interior Design magazine.

I have worked for The Medical College of Georgia (Augusta), Orbit Network, Inc. (Novato, CA) and Sage Creative Group (Aiken, SC). As an independent contractor I have collaborated with many companies and agencies (see the full list in the clients link).

Three sets of my icons are prominently featured in the design book,"1000 icons, symbols + pictograms" by BlackCoffee and published by Rockport Publishers. 01 | 02 | 03

While I was in Atlanta I founded the Creative Postcard Club (September 2000) and self-publish www.CreativePostcardClub.com. The CPC was covered in HOW's Self-Promotion Annual 2001 and was a follow-up feature in HOW's Self-Promotion Annual 2002 issue. Rockport publishers contacted me to author a book based on the CPC assignments (unfortunately the title was not published). I am also a contributor to the design book,"The Savvy Designer's Guide to Success" by Jeff Fisher for HOW Books. The CPC tee is featured artwork in the book (there are 16 CPC shirts left available for purchase).

I began writing and illustrating an alphabet book in 2010 based on an assignment from the CPC. It is now self-published as an eBook and titled, "Animal Alliterti - An Alphabet Adventure". It is an alphabet book fully illustrated with animals from A to Z and was released in December 2011. The book is written in alliteration for each letter of the alphabet making it a quirky tongue-twisting fun read and is also available as a PDF coloring book (only on Hi-Art Press).
